Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and is deeply rooted in my family history. My grandfather founded the University of South Florida Swim Program, and my mom and her siblings grew up swimming year-round. I began swim ming at age four, fell in love with the sport through summer league, and later competed year-round with the Cobb Stingrays. I continued my swim ming career at Sprayberry High School, where I was a four-year letter man and a state meet qualifier. I then went on to attend the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude, and continued swimming at the club level until injuries ended my competitive career. But my passion for the sport never faded, and I always knew swimming would remain a central part of my life. I joined Cherokee in 2024 as Assistant Head Swim Coach and now proudly serve as Head Coach, where I focus on helping swimmers grow both in and out of the pool. I am committed to leading with energy, respect, and enthusiasm while fostering a positive team culture and continuing the proud tradition of the Cherokee Stingrays.
I am over the moon to have joined the Cherokee Stingrays’ staff as Assistant Head Coach. As a young athlete, the Montgomery YMCA Barracudas swim team was my home for 10 years. My passion for swimming was cultivated by my mother, a former competitive swim mer and my first swim coach! With her guidance, I held city records, podiumed at state, conference, and regional events, and started competing at the national level by 14 years old. Alongside training me to be a formidable swimmer, my mom also taught me to be a formidable coach. Starting at 15 years old, I spent my summers as the Head Coach for the Southeast YMCA Sharks Summer Swim League Team, and for three consecutive sum mers, the Sharks came 1st place at the City Championships. After high school, I went on to graduate from the University of Alabama. Now that I’ve moved to Atlanta, I’m ready to jump back in and share my love for this sport with a new generation of athletes. Outside of swim ming, I am training for a 70.3 Ironman, which takes up all of my free time while indirectly supporting my second passion: eating great food. See you on the pool deck! Go Stingrays!
