Superstar Board

The Superstar Board is a Cherokee tradition that encourages participation and rewards the hard work of swimmers throughout the season. Stingray swimmers can earn a star for participation in swim team practices.

Swimmers who earn 70% of the stars will receive a special prize at swim team banquet.

How to earn those feathers:

  • One star per pre-season practice.
  • One star per regular practice session.

Awards

Ribbons

  • A meet ribbon is awarded to each swimmer for first through sixth place in every event completed without disqualification. Ribbons are presented to the swimmers the morning after a swim meet.

Meet Chief of the week

  • The swimmer that demonstrated hard work, good attendance and racing success. A Meet Chief Hat is awarded to one swimmer from 8 & under, and one swimmer from 9 & older age groups the morning after a swim meet.

4 Meet Award

  • All swimmer who swims all five dual meets.

Cherokee Record Breaker

  • Any swimmer who breaks a Cherokee Swim Team Record during a meet will receive an award and a plaque on the Cherokee record board.

Country Club Swim League Record Breaker

  • Any swimmer who breaks a CCSL record during the championship swim meet will receive an award.

Most Dedicated Award

  • This award goes to boy/girl swimmers in each age group who consistently show dedication by working hard at practices, giving their best at meets, and supporting the team at social events. These swimmers demonstrate excellent sportsmanship at meets as well as practices.

Most Improved Swimmer Award

  • This award goes to boy/girl swimmers in each age group who improved their race times the most over the course of the season. These swimmers have also demonstrated improved swimming skills.

Most Valuable Swimmer Award

  • This award goes to boy/girl swimmers in each age group who scored the most cumulative individual event points during the five-regular season meets.

The Tribal Chief Award

  • This award goes to any graduating swimmer (14-year-old) who has been on the team consecutively since they were 6 and under.

Chief of Cherokee Award

  • This award goes to the swimmer who has demonstrated a superior commitment to the team, inspired their peers and promoted the Swim Team throughout the season by enthusiastically participating in team events.
